Teaching Professor and Faculty Director, Information Systems Program in the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences
I am the faculty director for the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences Information Systems undergraduate degree program for the Pittsburgh campus. I regularly teach the junior and senior project courses and elective courses such as "IT & Environmental Sustainability" and "Introduction to Geographical Information Systems.
My professional interests include software development methods, global project management, intelligent decision support systems, global IS education, IT for development, and IT and Sustainability. My teaching combines these interests through special projects, course design and outreach activities. I am particularly interested in novel applications of Information Systems and Information Technology in emerging problem domains of wide interest and societal impact, like sustainability and development.
I am a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Association for Information Systems.
