Bio

Anis Charfi joined CMU-Q as an associate teaching professor of information systems in August 2015. He worked for more than eight years as senior researcher in the research and development department of SAP in Darmstadt, Germany, leading several innovation and transfer projects. He also led large collaborative research projects that were funded by the European Union, the German Ministry of Education and Research, and the German Academic Exchange Office.

Anis Charfi's research activities revolve around engineering enterprise software systems with a special focus on process-oriented and service-based systems. His research involves areas such as business process and workflow management, model-driven software development, aspect-oriented software development, service-oriented computing and cloud computing. In 2016, Charfi received a QNRF NPRP project grant for research on Arabic author profiling.

Anis Charfi regularly serves as reviewer for leading international journals such as ACM Transactions on the Web, IEEE Software, IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering and the Information Systems Journal. He serves on the program committees of international peer-reviewed conferences such as Sysco 2016, BPM 2015, SERA 2015 and WETICE 2014. He has co-chaired several events.
