Updated Voucher Process for Course Drops & Pass/No Pass Elections

The University Registrar's Office is pleased to announce that the voucher process has been expanded to include late pass/no pass grade elections in addition to late course drops. This modification was proposed by faculty and student government leaders and supported by the University Education Council, Deans' Council, Associate Deans' Council, and Faculty Senate. Additionally, to acknowledge the unique challenges the past few months have presented, students will be permitted one additional voucher for use in the 2020-2021 academic year only.

The voucher election deadline (for semester-length and mini-2 courses only) is Friday, Dec. 11. If you wish to use a voucher to initiate a late course drop or make a late pass/no pass election, you must do so on or before this date.

Voucher process for fall 2020 and spring 2021:

  • Vouchers may be used to either drop a course OR make a pass/no pass election after the deadlines.
  • Only one voucher per semester may be used at a time.
    • You may use your additional voucher OR one of your previously allotted vouchers; it is advised that you use your additional voucher first, as it will not carry over to subsequent semesters.
    • Undergraduate students will receive their additional voucher (in addition to the three vouchers they are permitted over the course of their undergraduate career); the additional voucher is only valid for fall 2020 and spring 2021.
    • Master's students will receive their additional voucher (in addition to the one voucher per 12 months of study permitted over the course of their graduate career); the additional voucher is only valid for fall 2020 and spring 2021.
  • If you wish to make a voucher request, please reach out to your primary academic advisor no later than 4:30 p.m. EDT on Dec. 11 so that your advisor will have time to submit the request before the 11:59 p.m. deadline that day.
