I am very honored and happy to be selected as a Perryman scholar. I've always known I wanted to go to college, but not having to worry about the financial barrier of attending Carnegie Mellon makes me extremely grateful. CMU appealed to me so much when I was deciding on a college to attend because everyone that I met, spoke to, or listened to was not only intelligent, but also passionate and driven. This made me think of what made me passionate, which led me to majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering. I hope to one day work in research or industry to develop/manufacture treatments for multiple sclerosis, as this is a disease that is very prominent in my family.
