Pistorius and Assis to receive Adrian Normanton Award from IOM3

Professor Chris Pistorius and P.h.D. graduate student Karina Assis have been nominated by The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, (IOM3) for the Adrian Normanton Medal for their paper: Improved cold-finger measurement of heat flux through solidified mould flux published in Ironmaking and Steelmaking.

Pistorius and Church at Adrian Normanton Award ceremony Nov 2019The Adrian Normanton Award is given to the best technical paper on the topic of steelmaking or casting. Ironmaking & Steelmaking editors consider all papers published in the journal in the previous two years, based on recommendations received from the journal editorial board. The final award nomination is approved by the IOM3 Iron and Steel Society. 

The award will be presented to the co-authors in November 2019 at the Application Steel Alloy Development Conference.
