Petach receives Perryman Scholarship
Junior Dominique Petach has been selected as a 2018 Perryman Scholar by the Perryman Family Foundation. The scholarship is designated for students in technology, engineering, math, or metals. Dominique, who is a double major in both Materials Science (MSE) and Biomedical Engineering (BME) was recommended by BME Professor Conrad Zapanta and Dean of Student Affairs, Gina Casalegno
Dominique's education goals are to pursue a masters in biomedical engineering at Carnegie Mellon, and then potentially a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering. read more
A note from Dominique:
Being nominated as a Perryman scholar is a wonderful honor. This scholarship will help me tremendously with affording the high cost of college. Not having to worry about a financial barrier has given me the opportunity to attend a prestigious school like Carnegie Mellon. I plan to pursue a masters or PhD in biomedical engineering. This scholarship allows me to pursue my dreams, because I do not have to worry about paying off any loans as soon as I graduate. Overall, there are endless opportunities to be awarded scholarships and receive aid for school. Students should not be steered away from colleges due to the cost. Carnegie Mellon is an amazing university and with a bit of help from professors, faculty, and friends your dreams can be made possible.
