Davis Elected Fellow of MRS

April 04, 2018

Davis elected a Fellow of the Materials Research Society

Professor Robert Davis has been elected to the class of 2018 Materials Research Society (MRS) Fellows. He was officially recognized at the 2018 MRS Spring Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona in April.

The title of MRS Fellow honors those MRS members who are notable for their distinguished research accomplishments and their outstanding contributions to the advancement of materials research, world-wide. The maximum number of new Fellow appointments each year is limited to 0.2% of the current MRS regular membership. Thus, the distinction is highly selective.

Prof. Davis' citation reads:
For scientific achievements leading to the ubiquitous use of silicon carbide and
Group III-nitrides in applications with beneficial societal impact and for selfless
mentorship of numerous students and researchers.
