CMU nanowire discovery featured in Engineering.com

A team of CMU researchers, including BME/MSE’s Tzahi Cohen-Karni, was featured in Engineering.com for their recent discovery about nanowires. The team observed that some nanowires seemed to “crawl” along the surface of graphene film, even though they were expecting the nanowires to grow vertically out of graphene film. The team’s discovery is significant because these “nanocrawlers" could be more sensitive to light and therefore more useful in converting light to electricity than their vertical nanowire counterparts. read more
