How To Use Cisco Jabber

Cisco Jabber (Softphone) is an all-in-one communication tool that gives you the functionality of a telephone on your computer or mobile device. Jabber is also an option for group chat.

IMPORTANT: You will need to request an account to use Cisco Jabber on your computer or mobile device. 

Log In To Jabber for the First Time

The first time you log in to Cisco Jabber, do the following:

  1. Open Cisco Jabber.
  2. Enter your userID as follows: YourAndrewUserID@uc.cmu.edu.*
  3. Click Continue
  4. Enter your Andrew userID (without "@uc.cmu.edu") and your Andrew password at the second log in screen.
  5. Click Login.

*IMPORTANT: After the first time you log in to Cisco Jabber, use only your Andrew userID (without "@uc.cmu.edu").
