POGOH Bikeshare
POGOH is Pittsburgh's bikeshare program, designed for short trips around the city to run errands, commute to work, exercise or just have fun! There are more than 50 POGOH stations, and approximately 50 more are planned in the program's next expansion phase, which includes new stations on CMU's campus. The stations are strategically placed around Pittsburgh for people to rent and return bicycles.
All students and benefits-eligible faculty and staff at CMU receive a free POGOH membership, which provides unlimited 30-minute rides on any POGOH pedal or e-assist bike. Set up a CMU-linked POGOH account to get started.
Creating a CMU POGOH account
All CMU riders must register for an account via the POGOH website to connect their CMU benefit. (Registering through the app will not provide the appropriate membership discount.) Complete the following steps to create your CMU account.

- Enter the verification code emailed to you to access the CMU Membership.
- Complete the registration process. Once your email is verified, your total will update to $0 for the CMU Membership.
- Use the PBSC app (for iOS or for Android) to check out bikes under your updated membership!
If you do not have a POGOH account:

- Enter the verification code emailed to you to access the CMU Membership for $0.
- Enter a back-up payment method for rides that exceed the free 30-minute window, and submit your registration. You will then receive a confirmation email.

POGOH FAQ
View some frequently asked questions (FAQ) about POGOH bikesharing below. Additional questions and answers are available on the POGOH website.
How do I rent a POGOH bicycle?
Use the PBSC app to locate a POGOH station and select an available bike to unlock. Details on how to rent and return bikes are available on the app and the POGOH website.
What happens if I exceed 30 minutes in a single trip?
Trips that exceed the free 30-minute window are the responsibility of the rider and and will automatically be charged to the payment method on file with your account. After the initial 30 minutes, CMU riders will be charged – $2.25 for each additional 30-minute period for pedal bikes, or $3 for each each additional 30-minute period for e-assist bikes – until the bike is properly returned to a POGOH station. To avoid overage fees, keep every ride under 30 minutes.
Many of the stations in the POGOH network are within a 30-minute ride from CMU's main campus. If your planned ride is longer than 30 minutes, you can return your bike at a POGOH station along your route to end that rental, then re-rent a new bike to finish your trip. Please note that you can only use the free unlimited 30-minute rides on one POGOH bike at a time.
Where are the POGOH stations located?
CMU riders can access any bike station in the POGOH network. View a map of current station locations or learn more about the next phase of their station expansion, which will include new stations on CMU's campus and in Oakland, Squirrel Hill, Point Breeze and Greenfield.
Can I return a POGOH bike anywhere in Pittsburgh? Or to a POGOH station that is already full?
All bikes must be returned to an official POGOH station with an available dock. Use the PBSC app to locate stations and view bike/dock availability.
Will I get charged extra for renting e-assist bikes?
There is no surcharge for e-assist bikes during the free 30-minute window. After the initial 30 minutes, however, CMU riders will be charged – $2.25 for each additional 30-minute period for pedal bikes, or $3 for each each additional 30-minute period for e-assist bikes – until the bike is properly returned to a POGOH station.
Can I register for my account with a CMU email address that does not end in @andrew.cmu.edu?
All benefits-eligible faculty, staff and students must register with their Andrew ID email ending in @andrew.cmu.edu to receive their free membership.
What do I do if I didn't receive my verification email?
Check your email spam/junk folder to see if it ended up there. If you still have not received it within a few minutes of starting the verification process, contact POGOH at 412-595-9421 for assistance.
How do I renew my CMU Membership?
The free CMU Membership lasts one year and must be renewed to continue another year. Before your membership expires, you will receive an email at your CMU address with details about how to renew. If your membership expires because you are no longer with the university, you will be prompted through the PBSC app, or when logging into your POGOH account online, to purchase a new membership. Those individuals will need to update their POGOH account email to a personal address and are no longer eligible for the free CMU Membership.
Who do I contact for help?
