Visitor Parking
Guests driving to our Pittsburgh campus have several visitor parking options. We also invite all university visitors to check out our visitor information for additional details to help make the most of your CMU experience.
Permit Parking
CMU faculty, staff and students may also apply for annual parking permits for our Pittsburgh parking locations.
Bicycles and Personal Wheeled Vehicles

Electric vehicles
The university has several electric vehicle charging stations on our Pittsburgh campus. Download the ChargePoint app to use the stations. There is a four-hour charging limit per vehicle, per day.
Collaborative Innovation Center (CIC) Garage: 10 charging stations
A CMU permit is required to use these stations. Drive to the right of the garage entrance on South Neville Street. The stations are located outside the garage, in the ungated portion. Two charging stations are reserved for the "Create A Lab" and are not open for public use. You may charge up to four hours per day and must display your CMU permit hang tag.
East Campus Garage: 8 charging stations
If you do not have a permit for this garage, you will pay for the time you are in the garage charging your vehicle. You may charge up to four hours per day.
Dithridge Street Garage: 4 charging stations
If you do not have a permit for this garage, you will pay for the time you are in the garage charging your vehicle. You may charge up to four hours per day.
Motorcycle parking
Our Pittsburgh campus has two motorcycle parking locations:
- East Campus Garage: 13 spaces
- Zebina Way Lot: 5 spaces (CMU permit required)
Parking Validation
CMU departments may purchase parking validation tickets for their guests visiting the Pittsburgh campus. For events with more than 25 guests, faculty and staff must submit a Event Parking Request Form [pdf] at least 30 days prior to the event. Once email confirmation of purchase is received, no cancellations, returns or credits will be given. All tickets are only valid for the date(s) requested and must be picked up from the Transportation Services office. Guests are subject to all CMU parking policies [pdf].
