Confident City Cycling Class
Tuesday, September 15, 4-7pm
The Pitt Bike Cave, outside Hillman Library, Pitt Campus
BikePGH’s Confident City Cycling class will get you safely out on the streets. Learn from certified instructors how to get ready to ride, basic bike handling skills, and safer, legal ways to navigate city streets. This three-hour on-bike class will start with drills on sheltered pavement and move to learning as a group on local streets. All participants must wear a helmet and know how to ride a bicycle.

Open to All
Operation Illumination
Tuesday, September 15, 5-7pm
Sidewalk at Forbes and Morewood
BikePGH’s Operation Illumination program distributes free front and rear bike lights and helmets to those riding without them—while supplies last! All you need to do is stop by with your UNLIT bicycle to receive your own set of lights (or unprotected head, for a helmet).
Open to CMU Students, Faculty, and Staff
Campus Bike Tour
Wednesday, September 16, 5-6pm
Meet at the Walking to the Sky Statue
Join us for a campus tour of all things related to biking! Find out about the best routes from campus to nearby points (including a couple secret shortcuts), the somewhat hidden location of the Tartan Bike Project bike shop, and more. Starts at 5pm at the Walking to the Sky statue. Bike and helmet required.
If you’d like to join but need a bike and/or a helmet, email Karen Brooks at kbr00ks@andrew.cmu.edu
