Special Announcement: A Change In Board Officers. Congratulations to Jeffrey and Peter!

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Carnegie Mellon University Board of Directors would like you to know that the Board has reluctantly accepted the recent resignation of its President, Sankar Seetharama.  Sankar served on the Board since 2020 and as President from July 2024 to July 2025. Prior to July 2024, he  was the Board Vice-President and Secretary.  Thank you, Sankar, for your years of dedicated service to the Board and commitment to the Osher mission.

Upon Sankar’s resignation, the Board unanimously elected Vice-President Jeffrey Swoger to the position of President, and  Board member Peter Oleinick to the position of  Vice-President.   Jeffrey has been involved in many Osher roles, one of the most prominent being his leadership for the 4.0 campaign to raise funds for the Cyert Hall Osher space and driver for the design décor of the new space.  We congratulate both Jeffrey and Peter for taking on these important positions. Peter, in addition to his service on the Board, has been a member of the Osher Finance Committee. Both Jeffrey and Peter have also been prolific Study Leaders.  Congratulations Jeffrey and Peter for taking on these important positions.
