New Member Initiative

Increasing our membership is vital to our long-term financial healthwhio caan. Here are some ways you can become part of our wide-ranging initiative to grow our Osher community. These actions will make a significant difference future of the Osher we all love. Members of the Marketing Committee, and the Board of Directors are available to assist.

Join the Marketing Committee

While we need members with some marketing experience, we also need members who can help carry out some of the activities listed below.

Bring a Friend to an Osher class

This has proven to be the best way to recruit, and retain, new members. Think about someone you know who might enjoy our courses and social opportunities, and invite them to join you in a class.

Underwrite an ad in an arts organization program booklet

There are several possibilities, including the opera, Broadway in PGH, the ballet, Jazz at Lincoln Center, City Theater, and the Cabaret series. By underwriting an ad, you free-up money to be used on other initiatives

Contact local realtors about introducing us to residents new to the area

We can supply realtors with a digital file that will introduce us to new arrivals that fit our demographic. Good for them, good for us.

Give a talk to your group – book club, garden club, etc.

We can supply a slide deck and suggested talking points customized for your group. Or, if need, we can supply a speaker.

Ask your local newspaper to run a story about Osher

We can supply text and photos customized to that neighborhood.

Hang posters about our Osher program in your area

We can supply posters to hang on bulletin boards in apartment buildings, libraries, places of worship, favorite businesses, around campus. Anywhere at all.
