Equitable Economic Prosperity

Technology change over the past 50 years has had the unintended effect of widening gaps between economic groups. As the pace of technological change continues to accelerate, Metro21 works with its municipal and equity deployment partners to ensure that new technologies are used to uplift marginalized groups and advance equitable economic prosperity for all. Metro21 addresses how gig workers can be empowered for collective actions, how new ride-sharing options can be used to effectively improve social and economic mobility for single mothers, and how smart phone applications can link disadvantaged youths with businesses struggling to find employees.
