Join IPS Director and Taube Professor and Kiron Skinner on Zoom for a viewing of The Times of Harvey Milk, about the twentieth-century trailblazer, human rights activist, and one of the first openly gay US politicians elected to public office. Professor Skinner will lead a discussion of the film afterward.

The Times of Harvey Milk, directed by Robert Epstein, won an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 1985. The documentary uses news film and interviews to tell the story of Milk’s election to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and his subsequent assassination.

The film includes archival footage of Harvey Milk, Jimmy Carter, Dianne Feinstein, Anne Kronenberg, and George Moscone.

Presented in partnership with CMU PRISM
