FocusU's Facelift Complete

Today, the Office of Human Resources successfully completed an update to the FocusU learning management system. The FocusU facelift will improve your ability to identify and register for training based on your role and/or learning needs.

What are some of the changes and how will they benefit you?

First, you will be able to personalize your professional development. When you identify your role, FocusU will highlight skills, courses, books and learning journeys that apply best to you. You will also be able to set personal learning goals. FocusU will guide and encourage you as you work to achieve those goals, and you can leverage skill benchmarks to see where you are now and how much you have progressed.

Also, in the new and improved FocusU, you can view learning content that you accessed, live training sessions that you are registered for and self-created playlists of content that you want to view later or revisit. And, the live learning that you register for can now be added to your calendar directly from FocusU.

What is staying the same?

While the look has changed and you have more tools available to assist you with planning and organizing your professional development, you have the access to the same, extensive catalog of FocusU resources that you always have — all searchable by type, subject, source, level and duration. This catalog also includes the internal, CMU-specific training developed and added by groups like the Office of Human Resources, Finance Division, Dietrich College, Child Protection Office, FMS and more.
