Second Major vs Multiple Degrees

Many students have interests in multiple areas.

Pursuing an additional major means completing the major's curriculum within the 360 minimum unit requirement for graduation. You receive one diploma with both majors listed.

A multiple degree is more than one degree (whether simultaneous or seqential).  One diploma is awarded for each degree.  At least 90 units beyond the total units required for the first degree must be completed.

The Multiple Undergraduate Degree [.pdf] form needs to be signed by advisors for all the degrees. There could be limitations to the courses that can double-count for the majors of the degrees and the General Education Program, so be sure to discuss these limitations with each major advisor.
