Commencement

May 22-23, 2021

Commencement Schedule

Congratulations to the Class of 2021! We were proud to celebrate your remarkable achievements and mark the occasion of your graduation from CMU during this year's commencement exercises. Below you will find a full schedule of this year's commencement exercises.

University-Wide Ceremonies

Main Commencement Ceremonies

Saturday, May 22 and Sunday, May 23 at 11 a.m. ET

This year, we hosted two live commencement ceremonies — one for master's and doctoral degree candidates and one for bachelor’s degree candidates.

Visit the homepage to view the ceremonies.

During the ceremonies, student speakers addressed the graduating class and CMU awarded honorary degrees to four distinguished friends of the university community. Learn more about the student speakers and honorary degree recipients.

Diploma Ceremonies

Throughout the Weekend

While we will be mailing all graduating students their diploma this summer,  colleges and departments hosted virtual celebrations during commencement weekend to honor the accomplishments of their students.

If you missed your diploma ceremony and would like to inquire about a recording, email commencement@andrew.cmu.edu. Note, not all colleges and departments recorded their ceremonies.
