Second Major vs Multiple Degrees

Many students have interests in multiple areas.

Pursuing an additional major means completing the major's curriculum within the 360 minimum unit requirement for graduation. You receive one diploma with both majors listed.

A dual degree is more than one degree (whether simultaneous or seqential).  One diploma is awarded for each degree.  At least 90 units beyond the total units required for the first degree must be completed.

Form

The H&SS Multiple Undergraduate Degree [.pdf] form needs to be signed by advisors for all the majors. There are limitations to the courses that can double-count for both majors and/or a major and the General Education Program, so be sure to discuss these limitations with each major advisor.
