New Tools to Enhance the Employee Experience

The Office of Human Resources has launched three exciting new tools designed to enhance the employee experience at Carnegie Mellon:

  • The Scotty Chatbot enables you to independently find answers to common HR questions and provides quick access to important information and resources on our HR webpages.
  • Workday Assistant helps with Workday-related questions and actions, streamlining how employees navigate important information. Common self-service tasks can be initiated directly in Workday Assistant. For example, you can use it to view your PTO balance and request time off, eliminating the need to navigate to multiple screens. Workday Assistant will appear on the lower right corner of the screen upon logging in.
  • Workday Journeys uses an intuitive interface to provide customized, concierge-style experiences, guiding CMU employees through key milestones in their employment life cycle. We recently launched a journey for the student worker onboarding process, and one in the upcoming weeks for newly-hired staff and faculty in Pittsburgh. From there, we will develop additional Workday Journeys as needed to help employees navigate key processes, and we will collaborate with campus members as we do so.

These tools supports staff and faculty in navigating key employee life-cycle events and day-to-day HR-related tasks. We hope these tools provide the best customer experience possible and empower employees to successfully accomplish their HR tasks.
