Organizational Development
In order for Carnegie Mellon to be successful as an organization, each group and department must be an effective team. Learning and Development provides many services to help groups achieve their potential. Some of the services we can offer include:
- Departmental/customized training programs. We can create programs to fit a specific training need, or adapt a general L&D session for a specific group. Some of our most popular departmental training involve assessment tools (such as Myers Briggs Type Indicator or conflict management style assessments) administered to a group, and addressing how individual results impact the ability of team members to work well with one another.
- Interactive Theater presentations. This award winning program helps participants to understand the complexity of issues and allows audience members to view a workplace scenario performed by professional actors, and then ask questions of the characters to gain insight into their motives and behaviors.
- Organizational development consulting. There are many reasons that our group may be brought into a department to provide professional consulting services. A high performing group may want to assure continued levels of motivations. A group in the midst of changes or reorganization may want change management assistance. A highly diverse group may want to explore techniques that enable them to work together smoothly and take advantage of their different strengths and perspectives. A poorly functioning group may need performance improvement plan. Our group can identify training strategies, communication plans, and team building exercises.
