Grants Accounting (GA)

Grants Accounting (GA) is the second largest module in the Oracle system. It is also referred to as Project Accounting or simply Grants. The GA module holds all expense detail for projects, tasks and awards which are referred to as PTAs. The GA module sends summarized data to the GL by funding source or the major sponsor. At CMU, Grants is used to track sponsored projects, faculty discretionary funds, faculty development funds, internally funded projects, cost sharing, internal allocations, consortia and affiliate programs.
