Direct Students to Support Services

Faculty are often among the first to notice when students are experiencing problems and sometimes those are problems we are not able, nor qualified, to help them with. To find out more about your role in helping students in need, we've provided links to a number of resources the university provides:

Counseling Resources for Students

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), 412-268-2922, provides support for students in need of help and advice for faculty if you find you have a situation you are unsure how to handle.

Peer Health Advocates (PHAs) are students supporting other students in their own health and wellness goals. PHAs can meet in one-on-one or group settings for casual conversations or interactive workshops around things like sleep, stress, substance use, relationships, sexual health, nutrition, etc.
