The companies listed below have been granted a trademark license or are in the process of being granted a license to use CMU's logos & trademarks during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025

Most of Carnegie Mellon University's trademark licensed suppliers (licensees) sell merchandise to our on campus University Store, off-campus retailers, and online sites. CMU also has a large selection of licensee partners known as promotional product distributors formerly known as advertisting speciality companies. These specific licensees only sell merchandise [merch] to campus administrative and academic colleges, schools, departments, recognized student organizations, and sports teams.

Some quick definitions:
Promotional Product Licensee Partners --A promotional product supplier may also be know as a promotional product distributor, and an advertising special company. These are the only companies permitted to take orders from students and staff for university branded merch used on campus or given-away at events. These are the companies you think of when you want anything imaginable. However, also send your request to our University Store. Also, companies only doing screen printing and embroidery for your apparel specific requests are included in this list.

Promotional Product Licensee Partners

The following official trademark licensed companies and our CMU owned and operated University Store can source items such as coffee mugs, pens, apparel of all types, banners, caps, and higher price point gifts appropriate for retirements, guest speakers, VIP visitors, and graduation. An additional list of licensees capable of screen printed and embroidered garments is included. These licensees have been granted permission to sell approved merchandise to the on-campus community for internal use (not for resale). Licensees with headquarters in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area are designated with the word "local" after their name.

Each licensee below was granted a trademark license to supply approved merchandise to the on-campus community for internal use (not for resale). Where you can go to order CMU decorated products for your campus event, department or student organization. These are refered to as PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS DISTRIBUTORS

A promotional product supplier may also be know as a promotional product distributor, and an advertising special company. They can source very expensive gift type products to foam stress balls, and everything else imaginable. Some of these licensees sell promotional products which you may know or have been told are a source for gifts, swag, give-away product, fundraising products, or "merch".
