Information from the July 23rd Board of Directors Meeting for the WE

• The Board of Directors approved changing the name of the Curriculum Committee to the Study Leader Recruitment Committee.  This was done to better reflect  and clarify that the actual role of the committee is to find Study Leaders who will propose courses to be taught, rather than picking course subjects and then looking for Study Leaders who would teach those subjects.
• A focus group of recent new members was conducted to gain insights of how to identify and address member issues.  One of the unexpected items learned was that the term “Prospect” for those just applying to join was perceived as having a negative connotation.  Consequently, the Board approved changing the name of those applying during the Osher year from “Prospect” to “Osher Explorer.”
