
A Message From the Osher at CMU Board President: Summary of the March 26th Board Meeting
My fellow Osher members –
I am pleased to tell you that, beginning today, we will be sharing a summary of significant actions taken by the Board at their meetings with you in the Weekly Essentials on a trial basis. These summaries will not report general discussion items or personnel or disciplinary matters. The summaries will generally be included in the Weekly Essentials issued in the week following a Board meeting. The Board does not meet every month, and there will be Board meetings where no actions are taken, so in those cases no summary will be issued. If you have questions about any of the actions reported in the summaries, please contact me, and I will attempt to answer them.
I hope this new policy will be informative and help you understand how the Board is working to make our Osher community the best it can be.

Summary of the March 26 Board Meeting
The Board of Directors met on March 26, and after discussion, unanimously approved the following:
Implementation Procedure for Member Appeals*: This procedure was drafted to define the steps to implement the Article 3, Section 7, Bylaw, approved at the Annual Meeting in January, for members to appeal suspension or terminations of membership.
Guidelines for Board Summaries in WE*: In response to member input, and as a trial effort to further communicate significant Board actions to our members, guidelines were drafted outlining the content of brief summary articles of Board actions to be posted in the Weekly Essentials.
