Three IPS Students Inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society

On Monday, October 24, 2022, Carnegie Mellon University’s chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Society (PBK) held their initiation ceremony. The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the country's oldest honors society and recognizes outstanding achievements in the liberal arts and sciences.

Three Institute for Politics and Strategy (IPS) students were among the eighteen selected for initiation, including Lauren James, Max Plottel, and Kyle Robertson. Lauren gave the keynote address. Her primary major is International Relations and Politics and she is minoring in Chinese Studies. Kyle’s primary major is also International Relations and Politics and he is minoring in Cybersecurity and International Conflict and Hispanic Studies. Max’s primary major is Behavioral Economics, Policy, and Organizations and he is pursuing additional majors in International Relations and Politics as well as French and Francophone Studies. 

Congratulations to Kyle, Max, Lauren, and all eighteen CMU students recently inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society!
