Srimani Receives NSF CAREER Award

Tathagata Srimani, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, has received the National Science Foundation’s prestigious CAREER Award, a five-year grant supporting early-career faculty in research and education.

His work focuses on three-dimensional (3D) integration of computing systems, stacking logic and memory to improve performance and energy efficiency. By reducing data movement and increasing bandwidth, this approach is especially promising for data-intensive applications such as artificial intelligence.

The project will develop new design frameworks for 3D chips and build prototypes to validate them, while also supporting education and workforce training in semiconductor technologies.
