Eric Dubberstein and Atharva Raut Selected for PACT 2026 Student Research Competition
Eric Dubberstein and Atharva Raut, Ph.D. students in the NEXUS Research Group, have been selected to participate in the ACM Student Research Competition (SRC) at the 35th International Conference on Parallel Architectures and Compilation Techniques (PACT 2026). Both projects are advised by Prof. Tathagata Srimani.
Eric’s project, "Software-Managed GB-Scale 3D-Stacked SRAM Residency for GPUs," explores how emerging 3D integration technologies can enable much larger on-chip memory capacities for GPUs. The work investigates a software-managed residency tier built from 3D-stacked SRAM, allowing selected data to remain close to computation and reducing the energy and performance costs associated with accesses to off-chip memory.
The ACM Student Research Competition provides undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to present ongoing research and receive feedback from researchers in the community. The competition begins with a reviewed extended-abstract submission, followed by a poster competition at PACT. Selected students from the poster round advance to a final presentation round.
Eric and Atharva will present their work at PACT 2026, held October 19–22 in Chicago, Illinois.
