Doing a Senior Honors Thesis

A Conversation (with dinner!) for Global Studies, EHPP, and History Majors

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

4:30-6 PM (please attend as your schedule permits)

Baker Hall 154R

What does it take to complete a successful senior honors thesis?  Attend this lunchtime conversation and learn the ins and outs of the Senior Honors Program in the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Assocation Dean Jay Devine will give an overview of the application process. Faculty advisors will discuss their expectations for thesis students, and seniors currently working on thesis projects will share their research and experience.

Discussion topics will include:

  • Application process, topic selection, finding a faculty advisor
  • Expectations for completing a successful senior honors thesis in History
  • Funding for thesis research
  • Completing both the capstone course and a senior honors thesis

This session is important for juniors thinking about submitting a Senior Honors Thesis application by the March 20th deadline.  Sophomores will also benefit by learning more about this prestigious opportunity and early planning.

Dinner will be provided.

Please RSVP to Emily Half by February 8th.  We hope to see you there!
