Case Studies

The Brownfields Center's case studies include research compiled over the years by Carnegie Mellon students. Our catalogue of case studies now included not only brownfield developments local to Pittsburgh, but brownfield developments across the state of Pennsylvania and a couple of other states as well. Many of these sites were formerly used by steel mills or other industries and have left behind large pieces of land-a scarce commodity in urban areas-and have been transformed into dynamic new developments.

There is also a map of brownfields in the region.
