Women Supporting Women

The American Council on Education - National Identification Programs for the Advancement of Women in Higher Education Administration (ACE-NIP) sponsors the Women Supporting Women program.  The goal of ACE-NIP is to increase the number of women who serve in major leadership roles by expanding the pool of persons considered qualified for such positions.  Its foundation is a state-based system of interlocking networks, through which women administration become known to one another and to prominent educational leaders.

Women Supporting Women's Mission:

The purpose of the Carnegie Mellon University Chapter of ACE-NIP is to channel our diverse resources to promote the professional and personal goals of Carnegie Mellon Women.  To achieve these goals, we will establish career development opportunities, facilitate professional enrichment and advancement, and foster a supportive environment for women.

Women Supporting Women is a mentoring program that matches experienced female staff members with women newer to the university.  Women complete the Call for Mentors/Mentoree Form, which includes their professional backgrounds and interests.  The WSW Board then matches women who wish to be mentored with those volunteering to mentor others. Mentors would be expected to schedule time with their mentoree on a mutually agreeable schedule.
