Bio

Cindy Cooke serves as the Title IX and Civil Rights Investigator with the Office for Institutional Equity and Title IX.  Cindy has dedicated her professional career to serving others.  She is a native of South Carolina graduating from the University of South Carolina majoring in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice.  She attended law school at Duquesne University graduating in 2001.  She served as an Assistant Public Defender in Allegheny County for 12+ years representing indigent clients with pending criminal charges.  While working in the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office she gained extensive experience working to achieve alternative adjudications and as an attorney in various specialty courts such as Domestic Violence Court.  She also served as Case Manager and Advocate for the homeless working with Catholic Outreach in Colorado.  In addition, she has investigative experience working with Child Protective Services and the SC Human Affairs Commission (EEO-Employment Discrimination) for the State of South Carolina.
