Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Awards

The Osher Awards recognize outstanding research that have positive impacts on individuals' quality of life and health. Specific awards are presented by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CMU judges on the day of the competition.

Students submit posters of their research. The research is from all majors and projects across a range of disciplines to compete for these awards. A panel of judges, who are members of Osher at CMU, will judge eligible projects based on:

  • The potential impact of the project on the quality of people's lives, including, but not limited to, senior citizens
  • Creativity, originality, and efficacy of the project, based on:
      • effectiveness of the presentation, and the
      • ability of the student(s) to articulate the significance of their work.

Three or more awards will be made, totalling as much as $2500.  Osher at CMU members may apply by completeing the volunteer form.
