Something New at Osher: Zoom Class Recording!

We’re starting something new that we’re very excited about: Zoom class recordings!

Most of our Zoom courses will be recorded on a weekly basis. If you miss a week of your Zoom course, you can request access to the recording of the missed class.

Important things to know about Zoom class recordings:

  • You must email osher@cmu.edu for access to the recording of your class.
  • Only those who are registered for the course will be able to request access to the recordings. They will not be able to be accessed by the public or non-registered members.
  • Recordings will only be available for one week after the class meeting.
  • Not all classes are being recorded. You will know if your class is being recorded by a pop-up notice when you’re logging into Zoom.
  • Class participants will be able to request only one recording per course.
  • We want to respect the time and efforts of our Study Leaders by encouraging participants to be present in all live Zoom courses.

What exactly is being recorded?

  • The Study Leader with their name and image visible
  • Participants who speak in class with name and image visible
  • Shared screens (PowerPoints, YouTube videos, audio clips, etc.)

As this is still a new process, please be patient as we work out some bugs in the system. We’re learning these issues as this new feature is being rolled out to our members.

If you have any questions or concerns, please send them to osher@cmu.edu.
