We are excited to offer courses on two different campuses: CMU campus and Eden Hall campus; community sites around Pittsburgh; and online through Zoom for the Summer 2022 term! Registration is not yet open for the Summer 2022 term; we expect member registration to take place early April.

Please note: The Summer 2022 Course Catalog will only be published on-line.

Important information:

Under current conditions, masks will be optional for our Summer term.

How will registration work?

For those who have been vaccinated...

To participate in on campus courses on the CMU campus (Oakland) and the Chatham Eden Hall campus (Gibsonia), you must have filled out a VAF attesting that you have received a full dosage of a Covid vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson.) If you have been vaccinated and we have your VAF on record, you will be able to register for classes by using the online registration system.

If you have forgotten your login information, please email osher@cmu.edu to request your username and the steps to create a new password.

For those who have not yet been vaccinated...

For those that are unvaccinated, a VAF is still required. If the VAF form indicates an unvaccinated status, a paper registration, submitted either via email or through the mail addressed to the Osher office, is required. Paper registrations will be entered on a first come basis once registration is announced. Unvaccinated members can only be registered for courses held online on Zoom.

Please click on the link below to print and fill in a registration form, and send it to Osher at CMU, 5000 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15213. If you cannot print the form, you may send us your registration neatly printed on a plain piece of paper along with your payment.

*Please note that the registration form is for those who are not vaccinated did NOT fill in a VAF.*

Email the office

If you decide you would like to register, please email the office at osher@cmu.edu requesting a callback from the office. Please provide your phone number and the best time to call. We will respond with a release form to sign, and to confirm the phone call. If you have taken classes before, you will not be required to sign another release form.

Please be prepared for your call back by having your courses picked out and having your credit card ready. We will take the credit card number over the phone.

Registration is $85/term and covers as many courses as you’d like to take with the exception of those with an additional material fee.

Materials Fee

Materials fees are due at the time of registration unless otherwise stated. Where indicated, materials fees are non-refundable. Should you not be admitted to a course, your prepaid fee will be made into an electronic voucher (credit).

Confirmation Emails

As you are registered, a "confirmation of class registration" will be automatically emailed to you for each course you are enrolled in. Should a course not be listed, it means that you are on the waiting list for which you will receive a waitlist email. You will be notified via email if and when you are enrolled in a waitlisted class. Please do not attend any classes for which you do not have a confirmation.

Adding and Dropping Courses

To add a course(s) after registering, please either go online to do so, or email the office at osher@cmu.edu. If you want to drop a course, complete the form at cmu.edu/osher, Quick Links, click on "Drop my Course" button. This is especially important to do early for courses with a waiting list so another member can attend.

IMPORTANT: You must receive a course confirmation in order to attend a course. A course confirmation is not the same as a waiting list notice.

Waiting Lists

If you encounter a course that has a limited number of participants, we encourage you to add you name to the waiting list. There are a few courses that will have a limited number of participants to ensure the highest quality for the course. If you become unavailable, please remove your name from the waiting list by signing into you account, click "Go to Dashboard", click on "My Waiting List" tab, and remove the course.
