Carnegie Mellon University’s 28th Annual Food Drive: November 1 – 15, 2021

Carnegie Mellon University's 28th Annual Food Drive, sponsored by Staff Council, officially launches today, and they’re looking forward to another record-breaking year! As a reminder, last year they raised an all-time high of over $86,000 in monetary and nonperishable contributions.

This year, they’re striving to hit the $100,000 mark! With your support, they can achieve this goal!

There are two easy ways to participate:

  • Participate in the final Drive-and-Drop event of the year at the Tepper School Garage:
    • Monday, November 15, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Requested items include peanut butter, low-sodium or no-salt canned vegetables, beans and soup, canned tuna or chicken packed in water, whole grain cereal and oats, pasta, toilet paper and other paper products, baby wipes, granola bars and juice boxes. These items (and any others donated) will be given to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

In addition, they are striving to collect 200 manual can openers and 2,000 reusable grocery bags for the CMU Food Pantry. These are “most needed items” to support our student food pantry shoppers.

If you have any questions regarding this year’s drive, contact committee chair Carole Panno.

Thank you for your support, and please give what you can to make this year’s drive a huge success! Remember … FOOD IS LOVE!
