Heinz XR Lab

Making XR tools accessible to students, faculty, and staff

Whether you are new to XR or building on existing skills, the lab makes it easy to experiment, compare devices, and discover practical uses for immersive technology. XR also supports demonstrations, remote meetings, and collaboration inside shared virtual environments.

XR Demo
If you are new to XR, a 30-minute individual demo is the ideal introduction. A lab technician will guide you through the basics and help you feel comfortable using the headset.

XR Lending Library
The XR Lending Library is available for anyone interested in exploring XR. Each headset includes a CMU account and comes loaded with apps, so you can start experimenting right away. Tutorials and videos walk you through the basics and support you as you explore on your own. However, a DEMO is highly recommended prior to borrowing a headset.
