Schedule a Demo

If you are new to XR, a 30-minute individual demo is the perfect place to start. The lab technician will walk you through the basics, help you get comfortable in the headset, and guide you through a few fun experiences so you can see what XR really feels like. After your demo, you can explore more on your own or ask questions about how XR can support your classes, projects, or creative ideas. If you enjoy the experience, you can borrow a headset and keep exploring!

  • Punctuality: Arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled time to prevent delays. If you are late, you’ll need to reschedule your appointment.

What to Expect...

1
Welcome: The lab tech greets the visitor and gives a short overview of what will happen during the 30-minute session. The lab technician also asks a few questions to understand what the visitor feels comfortable doing (a standing experience, a seated experience, or a mix of both - if time permits).
2
Headset Introduction: The lab technician explains the main buttons on the headset, including power, volume, and how to adjust the eyepiece and head strap. Before the visitor puts the headset on, the technician reviews the headset menu using a photo, so they can see where everything is located. This includes pointing out the app library and wifi settings, which is especially helpful since connecting to home wifi is the first step if they decide to borrow a device.
3
Guided XR Experience and Menu Walkthrough: The lab tech helps the visitor get a comfortable and secure fit. Once the headset is on, the technician walks the visitor through the same menu in XR. After this walkthrough, the technician helps the visitor pick an experience that matches their interests and guides them through the basic interactions, including controller use and simple navigation.
4
Support During the Experience: Throughout the demo, the lab technician stays nearby to guide the visitor, make sure they are safe while wearing the headset, and answer any questions that come up.
