Bio

After several years teaching modern languages at the high school level, I returned to university to study history. I’m now a PhD candidate in CMU’s history department, working as a recitation leader for Global Histories classes. My own research focusses on young detainees in France and Russia in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and what their experiences can tell us about social reform, international networks, and how people understood cities and nature in the past. I enjoy helping students develop their ideas and express them in clear and engaging ways, and I look forward to working with all kinds of writers at the GCC.
