Unlike campuses, neighborhoods, and cities, regions like Western New York or Southwestern Pennsylvania are more challenging for ‘community conversations.’ Recruiting participants requires various sampling techniques and more funding. However, with proper buy-in from county and municipal executives and managers, these larger scale efforts can help citizens see the area as a whole and so too its problems and potential solutions.
