Bio

Fadwa joined CMU and CTTEC in May 2017.  She works with faculty, staff, and students on technology originating from CMU-Qatar, the College of Fine Arts (CFA), Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, Tepper School of Business, and 3 departments at the School of Computer Science: Computer Science Department (CSD), Entertainment Technology Center (ETC), and Software and Societal Systems Department (S3D).

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering and Mathematics and a Master’s in Technology Management, Fadwa worked as a part of the commercialization team at the Washington State University Intercollegiate Research and Technology Institute, Spokane, WA, where she developed a taste for Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Commercialization. 

Fadwa has more than 15 years experience in Academia; both in teaching, research and in administration. She worked in universities around the world including Morocco, Mexico, and the US, teaching different courses and managing multiple projects where the common denominator is technology and communication. In addition, Fadwa held different positions within industry including Systems Trainer/Change Manager in a large telecommunications and infrastructure corporation based in Miami, FL and Operations Manager for a small business based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Fadwa is a native of Morocco and is fluent in 3 languages: Arabic, French and English. She has a beginner’s level in Spanish. She is passionate about innovation and the use of technology in streamlining processes. Fadwa is a mother of two boys who keep her in shape and ‘young.’
