Among the overflow crowd at the recent Aerospace Spotlight Awards was Nadine Aubry, head of Carnegie Mellon’s Mechanical Engineering department and Raymond J. Lane Distinguished Professor. No worry about her blending in: she was one of only 28 members (out of more than 35,000) named a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, which is the world’s largest global aerospace society. She was recognized for her “notable and valuable contributions to the field of aerospace.”
