Department of Biological Sciences Commencement Ceremony
12:00 p.m., Mellon Institute Auditorium (off campus), 4400 Fifth Avenue
(Bellefield doors open at 10:30 a.m. with light refreshments provided before the ceremony)
Graduates to get ready in Mellon Institute 4th Floor Foyer at 11 a.m. and line up at 11:30 a.m.
Due to the size constraints of the MI Auditorium combined with the size of the graduating class we have limited the number of seats to THREE per graduate’s family IN THE AUDITORIUM. Any additional family members are welcome to view the ceremony from the simulcast location (4th Floor Library) in Mellon Institute.
Wristbands can be picked up for seating in the auditorium in May in DH 1321 and will be required for entrance into the auditorium. No wristbands will be required for entrance into the simulcast location.
We will be having professional photography at this year’s departmental ceremony. A group photo of all graduates will be taken as well as photos of each graduate receiving their diploma. Families may opt to have a formal photo taken with graduates following the group photo. A link to download the photos will be posted a few days following the ceremony.

Doctoral Candidate Hooding Ceremony
4:30 p.m., Carnegie Music Hall, Carnegie Museum, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 (off campus)
(Tickets are not required. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.)
Doctoral candidates will be recognized and hooded individually on stage.
A reception will immediately follow the ceremony in the Carnegie Music Hall Foyer
Sunday, May 20
University Commencement Ceremony
11:00 a.m., Gesling Stadium
(Tickets are not required. Line up with MCS graduates by 10 a.m. on 2nd floor of Baker Hall.)
