Library Accounts

Carnegie Mellon University libraries require a valid ID Card in order to check books out from the library. 

The 9-digit account number printed on the bottom of the ID Card is entered into an online account management system. This number is needed in order to renew books and request books online, too.

Printing & Scanning

The libraries also have publicly accessible print and scan stations. Both of these require valid ID Cards with appropriate funds (see Plaid Cash) available on the card. View Plaid Cash for information about depositing funds for use via an ID Card. In lieu of an ID Card, patrons may also purchase a separate Print & Copy Card from The HUB.
