Campus Libraries

Library Accounts 

The Carnegie Mellon University libraries require a valid Carnegie Mellon ID+ Card to check out books from the library. 

The libraries use the 9 digit account ID printed on the bottom of the card as an ID for the online account management system.  You will need to use this number in order to access your account to_ renew books or request books online.

Printing and Copying

The libraries also have publicly accessible print release stations and copiers.  Both of these require that the user have a valid ID Card with appropriate funds on available on the card in order to make copies or to print in the libraries.  In lieu of an ID+ Card patrons may also purchase a separate Plaid Cash Card from a vending machine on the 1st floor of Hunt Library by the copiers.
