The 3rd Annual Extended Reality Technology Center Symposium

By Ashlyn Lacovara

This year, we hosted the third annual Extended Reality Technology Center Symposium, a two-day event bringing together faculty, students, industry collaborators, and partners from across the XR community.

The first day welcomed attendees to the newly renovated Robotics Innovation Center, where guests explored current research at Carnegie Mellon University and toured the updated facility. The second day continued on campus with talks and discussions highlighting advances in XR interaction, embodied AI, and the future of immersive research. The program also featured demos and presentations that showcased emerging work across labs and disciplines.

This year’s symposium served as a platform for sharing new ideas, sparking collaboration, and underscoring CMU’s leadership in extended reality. We were pleased to host this gathering and grateful to everyone who participated and supported the event.

We look forward to continuing to grow this community and to presenting even more reserach at next year’s symposium.
