By Ashlyn Lacovara

Over two exciting days, The Extended Reality Technology Center brought together industry sponsors alongside researchers from several Carnegie Mellon University labs for the second annual XRTC Symposium. The event showcased innovation, collaboration, and community. Attendees were immersed in lively demonstrations, insightful panel discussions, and engaging activities that highlighted the AI, XR, and VR work being done here at CMU.

We were excited to feature presentations from Nesra Yannier, Duane Detwiler, Alex Ion, Shubham Tulsiani, and Daniel Rosenberg Muñoz, whose insights sparked valuable discussions and inspired fresh ideas. A standout moment of the symposium was the poster session, where attendees had the opportunity to witness researchers in action and celebrate the incredible work being conducted across various CMU labs. Special congratulations to the two winners Vimal Mollyn and Sruti Srinidhi for the Best Poster award – your achievements were well-deserved and a testament to the hard work and creativity that drive our community forward.
