The United States is experiencing profound, unrelenting and accelerating demographic, economic and technological change. One of its consequences is that all of our social institutions — education, government, media, health care and the rest, which were created for the passing era — are compelled to change in order to meet the demands of the emerging order. This talk focuses on the future of one of those institutions: higher education. It explores how much, in what ways and by what process it can be expected to change in the years ahead.
