Tepper School of Business’ Online MBA Ranks No. 2 by Poets&Quants
In its sixth annual ranking of online MBA programs, Poets&Quants, a leading resource and online publication for business education, announced that Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business is ranked No. 2 among the country’s top online MBA programs.
“We have worked diligently to create an online program that provides the same incredible advantages as our full-time MBA program,” said Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou, Dean of the Tepper School. “We are so pleased that it continues to be recognized for its exceptional education and experience.”
The Part-Time Online Hybrid MBA program at the Tepper School, unlike many other online MBA options, offers students an equally rigorous curriculum as the full-time MBA program. Also like Tepper’s full-time program, it is STEM-designated and designed to teach students the latest technology, intertwined with data analytics, as well as less tangible – but equally important – leadership skills. “Yes, we are data-informed, but we are human-driven,” emphasizes Dean Bajeux-Besnainou.
The program begins with a strong base of coursework in business fundamentals such as finance, marketing, and operations. Following the core courses, students can customize their education with a concentration in business technology, marketing, finance, operations, organizational behavior, or entrepreneurship.
Students also have numerous elective options during the second half of the program. Tepper students appreciate the fact that regardless of format, their MBA curriculum is equally challenging and comprehensive. Accordingly, the Tepper online MBA program can be completed in 32 months.
Poets&Quants’ 2023 online MBA ranking is based on three factors:
- Quality of the incoming students.
- Program graduates’ assessment of their MBA experience (including academic and extracurricular activities).
- Career outcomes.
Data for the ranking was gathered from school and alumni surveys that included questions about admission standards, recent graduates' thoughts on whether the program fulfilled their expectations, and whether they would recommend it to others.
In an increasingly competitive field of online MBA programs, this is the second year in a row that the Tepper School’s online MBA program was ranked second in the country.
